Kuzuzangpola Sangay, I arrived back to Australia yesterday after a fantastic month of holidays. After my great time in Bhutan I went on to spend two weeks in Myanmar and finished with a week in Bali. Firstly I would like say a BIG THANKYOU to you and Druk Asia for a well-organized and great journey through Thimphu, Paro, Punakha and Gangtey. The ease of arrangement and payment with you was very good and the communication from you was beneficial to my decision to book with Druk Asia. Secondly I had two tour guides in the end. I hope the guide doesn't get into trouble for what I am going to tell you, Tashi was first but had a family emergency on the second day so quickly arranged chilly to take over. Tashi is very experienced from his lengthy guiding career and I noticed this more when an inexperienced chilly took over as my guide. Regardless I still had a great time and wasn't inconvenienced. I wish Tashi and his family best wishes at this difficult time. Dawa our driver was brilliant, a great driver with a good sense of humour. All the people were friendly and helpful. The car was immaculate and a comfortable transport. I enjoyed seeing the local crafts being made and the religious crafts being carved, sculpted, painted and stitched. All the people I met were happy and friendly. I loved all the monasteries, temples, stupas and Chortens. The accommodation arranged was of a high standard and I loved the views provided by the rooms I had in Punakha and Gangtey. I enjoyed the hike to tigers nest although it was hard work to hike, the rewarding views were worth every painful step and breathlessness. I could have done with an extra day in Paro to look around but I will know for next time. My favourite memories are of the clouds coming through the Dochula Pass while I was there, so I didn't mind not being able to see the Himalayas and the Thimphu Dzong night time visit. I have attached my photos of these two beautiful places, of course Taktsang Monastery was stunning but it is the vision of Bhutan so did not include it in my favourites. I enjoyed seeing the archery tournament in Thimphu, the Paro valley was very pretty and the Dzong where the river meets was also a highlight, I think it was on my way into Paro, called Rinpung.
